CompTIA A Plus Networking Training – Update
CompTIA A+ computer training covers four specialised areas – you’ll have to qualify in two of these areas to be considered competent in A+. This is why, many training establishments simply provide 2 of the training options. We consider that this will under prepare you – of course you can gain accreditation, but knowing about the others will give you a distinct advantage in the workplace, where gaps in your knowledge will expose weaknesses. That’s the reason why you should train in the whole course.
Once you start your A+ training program you’ll become familiar with how to build and repair PC’s and operate in antistatic conditions. Diagnostic techniques and fault finding are also on the syllabus, as is remote access.
Should you decide to add Network+ to your CompTIA A+ training course, you will additionally be able to assist with or manage networks of computers, which means you’ll be able to expect a better remuneration package.
A top of the range training package will undoubtedly also offer accredited exam preparation packages.
Steer clear of depending on non-official exam preparation systems. The terminology of their questions can be quite different – and often this creates real issues when the proper exam time arrives.
For many reasons, it’s essential to know that you’re completely ready for the real exam prior to going for it. Going over simulated tests will help to boost your attitude and saves you time and money on thwarted exam entries.
Students will sometimes miss checking on a vitally important element – how their company segments the courseware elements, and into how many parts.
Many think it logical (when study may take one to three years to gain full certified status,) that a training provider will issue the training stage by stage, as you complete each part. However:
Students often discover that their providers typical path to completion doesn’t suit. You may find that it’s more expedient to use an alternative order of study. Perhaps you don’t make it at the pace they expect?
The ideal circumstances are to get all the training materials delivered to your address right at the beginning; the entire package! Then, nothing can hinder your progress.
Be careful that the certifications you’re considering doing will be commercially viable and are the most recent versions. The ‘in-house’ certifications provided by many companies are often meaningless.
From an employer’s perspective, only the major heavyweights like Microsoft, Cisco, Adobe or CompTIA (to give some examples) will make the right impression. Anything less won’t make the grade.
Consider the facts below and pay great regard to them if you think that old marketing ploy of examination guarantees seems like a good idea:
Everyone knows they’re still being charged for it – it’s obviously been inserted into the full cost of the package supplied by the training provider. It’s certainly not free (although some people will believe anything the marketing companies think up these days!)
People who enter their exams one by one, funding them one at a time are in a much stronger position to qualify at the first attempt. They’re conscious of their spending and prepare more appropriately to be ready for the task.
Hold on to your money and pay for the exam when you take the exam, and hang on to your cash. You’ll then be able to select where you do your exams – which means you can stay local.
Buying a course that includes payments for exam fees (and interest charges if you’re borrowing money) is insane. Resist being talked into filling the training company’s account with your money just to give them a good cash-flow! There are those who hope that you won’t get round to taking them – so they get to keep the extra funds.
Re-takes of any failed exams with training course providers who offer an ‘Exam Guarantee’ are monitored with tight restrictions. You will be required to do mock exams until you’ve demonstrated an excellent ability to pass.
Prometric and VUE exams are currently clocking in at an average of 112 pounds in the UK. Why pay exorbitant ‘Exam Guarantee’ fees (often hidden in the cost) – when the best course materials, the right level of support and a commitment to studying and the use of authorised exam preparation tools are actually the key to your success.
